(Forbes) Why Did Hackers Torch One Man's Digital Life? Lulz, Of Course - Forbes
(2012/08/07 Forbes) Honan's story has raised big questions about the security of Apple's iCloud service. In a nutshell the hackers found the four numbers at the end of Honan's credit card number in plain-text via Amazon.com, and used that as a form of ID verification to call Apple, claim to be Honan and reset his iCloud password in a perfect example of social engineering.
